Real patterns. No real names.
The cases here are illustrative. Each one is drawn from patterns we have seen in real transformations, but the organisations described do not exist and no client is identified. We write them this way to protect confidentiality, and because a pattern is easier to recognise when it is not yours.
FEATURED CASE
Culture as a Strategic Lever
A global supply chain organisation enters a new strategic cycle with four clear priorities and a well-funded, technically sound plan. Twelve months later, progress is materially behind. Nobody is resisting. Everyone is busy. Decisions crawl, forums multiply, and senior leaders drown in escalations. A review of how work actually happened surfaces four unwritten rules, none of them written down, none of them irrational: secure full alignment before acting; escalate anything uncertain; protect the function before the outcome; treat visible activity as evidence of performance. Leadership declined to launch a culture programme and instead redesigned the four mechanisms producing the old behaviour. Eighteen months on, employees described faster decisions, sharper meetings, clearer ownership and greater trust.
